Christmas & New Year - I hate it - Am I in the Minority?

I detest work Xmas parties. After 20 odd years of them I stopped going a few years back as I don't want to spend time with the cunts outside of office hours as 90% of them are utter cunts

I detest work Xmas lunches (see above) plus all the "this is lovely" bollocks whilst oaying �40 for a piece of shit turkey worth about �2

I detest office decorations. Don't put tinsel on my PC, chair and desk - as soon as I see it I will rip it off and throw it away

Secret Santa - just fuck off, please, just FUCK OFF

Xmas Day - the only good thing is stuffing yourself with various foods, cheeses and booze - apart from that it is all put on shit - I tend to eat and then fall asleep wanting it to all be over

Boxing Day (see above)

NYE - not been out for around 8 years now - worst night of the year - full of cunts wanting a row, ages to get a drink, paying to get in a fucking pub and then if not local triple cab fares. Add to this pointless resolutions and how next year will be "my year" No it won't, it will be the same shit as last year

New Years Day - waking up with all the shit over and then realising rail fares have gone up and you are back at work to do it all again

I fucking HATE IT and cannot wait for it to all be over. Luckily my family agreed years ago not to do presents as it was a total waste of time and money.

I enjoyed Christmas when it was special but for me it is not special any more and that is because many of the things that people have highlighted on here about Christmas are part of my regular life and have been for some years.

Good luck to people who enjoy it and find it special and commiserations to those who end up exhausted by the time the turkey dinner is eaten fatigued by the build up, buying and wrapping of gifts, sourcing the feast and cooking it and acting as mediator between family factions.

If I have a strong dislike it is shops blaring out so called Christmas music by the likes of Slade and Rich Clifford.

There's some miserable fucks on the thread, Xmas is a great time at home with your family for a week, socialising with your extended family, going out with your mates, catching a game (but no longer on Boxing Day thanks Gold you utter cunt), Xmas Golf

Only thing I like is secret Santa.. But I work at home now, so no dildos or blow up dolls this year.

For xmas day I prefer to be in Thailand. It's warmer and they don't do xmas. Just another day.

Apologies for the late response, actually had to do some work for once!

Going to the in laws means driving either way for 2 and a half hours and then having to make small talk all day, when in reality I just want to watch shit on TV and whatever sport is on and enjoy the fact I have 2 free days off of work.

I'm not one of those blokes who has to go wherever his missus says thankfully. She worked with me before we got together, so she knows I'd say no anyway and so is chilled as fuck and doesn't care what I do.

Can I suggest peeling away all the commercial hype and focus on the true meaning of Christmas. There are many bible believeing churches. Visit one or two leading up to the big day.
